Bio - Michael Nejmark was born in Winnipeg in 1977, showing an aptitude for music at an early age. He started composing his own music at the age of 8, and studied with distinguished teachers, such as the late Leonard Isaacs. In 1997, he entered McGill, studying composition, majoring in piano & Music Theory, under the tutelage of respected professors, like Mme. Marina MDivani, (piano), William Caplin and Christoff Niedhofer (theory and composition). Before entering McGill in the music program, he completed his Grade 10 RCM exam with First-Class Honours in 1996. During and after his studies at McGill, he studied co-ordinate motion method with Jean-Pascal Hamelin (Montreal) and Edna Golandsky (NYC), in order to go further in his piano studies. It is here that he developed his edge in terms of piano technique, and his abilities as a teacher took shape.
